Jeff Puckett is the Director of Investigations for the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury. He leads a team of investigators who support Comptroller auditors and Tennessee citizens by uncovering fraud, waste and abuse in government. Jeff ensures a timely and thorough investigation is performed when a possible criminal violation has occurred.

Jeff joined the Comptroller’s Office after a 34-year career with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). Jeff worked as a special agent for 16 years on a variety of investigations including white-collar financial crimes, political corruption, and numerous violent crimes including rapes, robberies, and murders. 

Jeff served as special agent in charge of the Middle Tennessee field division for six years. He retired from the TBI after serving as the bureau’s deputy director for 12 years.

Jeff is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He is currently completing his Masters of Professional Studies at Tennessee State University.

Jeff is married with four children and a daughter-in-law. He enjoys hunting, fishing and traveling with his family. Jeff is also an avid Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titans fan.
