  • Former Jackson County Nonprofit Executive Director Indicted on 48 Counts

    An investigation by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office, in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Office of the Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division, has resulted in the federal indictment of Patrick Martin, the former executive director of the Community Prevention Coalition of Jackson County.

  • Former Jackson Madison County Health Department Employee Indicted for Theft

    An investigation by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office has resulted in the indictment of Rachel Thomas, a former program director for the Jackson Madison County Regional Health Department. The investigation began after Health Department officials reported questionable inventory return transactions.

  • Comptroller’s Office Studies Teacher Salaries In Tennessee

    The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office has released a report examining how money intended to boost teacher salaries has been used by local school districts. More than $300 million in new, recurring state dollars was appropriated by the General Assembly though the state’s Basic Education Program (BEP) between fiscal years 2015 and 2018. The legislative intent for the increased state funding was to increase teacher salaries across Tennessee.

  • Comptroller Releases Report on Tennessee’s Educator Preparation Providers

    The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office has released a new report that examines Tennessee’s Educator Preparation Providers. Educator Preparation Providers (EPPs) are institutions of higher education or other organizations that recruit, train, and produce licensed teachers. The report was requested by House Speaker Pro Tempore Bill Dunn and Senator Dolores Gresham.
