Amendment Templates
This amendment ordinance may be used during the normal budget monitoring process. When amending the budget, local governments should keep these principles in mind: the budget must be amended prior to increased spending; recurring revenues should be used to pay for recurring expenditures; cash liquidity must be considered; debt must be paid; and adequate reserves should be maintained.
This resolution may be used ONLY for those amendments required by our office as a condition for budget approval to help meet the 45 day deadline. A local government may still use an amendment ordinance as long as the 45 day dealine is met. The following resolution CANNOT be used for regular budget amendments which may be made throughout the year.
