Tennessee Reconnect and Blue Oval City

The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office of Research and Education Accountability has released a new publication on Ford’s Blue Oval City and the Tennessee Reconnect Grant. The publication explores how students in the Tennessee Reconnect Grant program may serve as an important skilled workforce for Blue Oval City, Ford’s planned automotive assembly complex in Stanton, Tennessee. Tennessee Reconnect allows eligible adult students to earn an associate degree free of tuition and mandatory fees.
The publication outlines the number of Reconnect applicants and students within the six counties that surround Blue Oval City as well as the postsecondary institutions that serve this population. An examination of some of the unique demographic and academic characteristics of Reconnect students within the Blue Oval region is also included.
