The Legislative Auditor position will be responsible for conducting audits in the Mid-East region of Tennessee. Legislative Auditors are responsible for external audit work in accordance with professional auditing standards.  Responsibilities may include examining and reviewing records, reports, financial statements, and management practices for state and local government entities and other organizations receiving public funds.

Financial Auditors within the Division of State Audit conduct financial and compliance audits of state departments, agencies, institutions, community colleges, and state universities in the Middle Tennessee area, in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards. The Automation Quality Assurance Analyst collaborates closely with development teams to enhance quality at every stage of the software development lifecycle. In this role, the Automation Quality Assurance Analyst will drive both manual and automated testing efforts, partnering with agile teams to identify, design, and implement comprehensive testing strategies.

Performance Auditors to help us make government better for Tennessee citizens by providing objective information to state officials and management about state entities’ performance and fulfillment of their mission. As a Performance Auditor within the Division of State Audit, you will participate in independent audits of state entities to determine whether they are effectively and efficiently carrying out their programs to meet their mission.

The Division of Property Assessments provides assistance, expertise, and oversight to the state’s property assessors and ensures effective administration of Tennessee’s property tax. The division also assists in reappraisal programs, provides technological services, and administers the Tax Relief Program. Analysts work with management, staff, other state entities and local governments to provide support in the coordination and operation of division activities.
