In 2009, the General Assembly passed Public Chapter No. 261 directing the Comptroller to study commercial fishing within the State of Tennessee. In response, the Office of Research produced Commercial Fishing in Tennessee. The report details the process and structure of Tennessee commercial fishing, describes policy issues that have arisen in regulating paddlefish harvest, and summarizes the concerns of commercial fishers.
