This report evaluates the Tennessee Textbook and Instructional Materials Quality Commission
and considers what adjustments may be needed in the textbook selection process given technological changes.
The commission is charged in law with recommending a list to the State Board of Education for approval of textbooks and other instructional materials that are aligned to Tennessee’s curriculum standards for each grade level in Tennessee’s public schools.
