Tennessee’s Coordinated School Health initiative began in 2000 with a pilot study in 11 school districts. In 2006, the General Assembly established an annual appropriation of $15 million dollars to expand the initiative to all 95 counties. This legislative brief outlines the Coordinated School Health model, traces the growth of such initiatives in Tennessee, and reviews performance outcomes for the past 10 years.
